I am a firm believer in this: if you know who you are, then you will be able to find your purpose in life. Why do I believe this? It worked for me!

So, how did this help me find my purpose?

It was only when I looked hard at myself that I discovered my purpose. I soon realized that there were certain things, things that were part of me, that were actually signposts to my purpose.

Let me give you an example.

When I look at myself, I see someone who gets bored quickly. I like to move to new places and experience new things. Of course, this can sometimes be a bad thing! This is something that I have to manage, to persevere and be responsible in life.

But this is still part of my purpose!

There are always going to be things in our personality and DNA that need to be managed or improved. But that doesn’t mean we should reject and throw away these things.

For me, I don’t need to squash the wonderful adventurous part of me. I need to embrace it and refine it. Why? Because God gave it to me, so that I could serve Him! It is so important that I embrace this part of me, because it is part of my purpose.

Here are some other examples.

I prefer the big picture over details. I love to excite and encourage people. I have gifts in encouraging, promoting, and the prophetic. And my adventurous spirit is what helps me get from place to place.

All of this is so that I can light fires of God all over the earth! And to better understand this, I first had to better understand myself.
