How important is it to have a purpose?
I would say it is everything. It is the substance that makes your heart sing. If you have read a copy of my book, Dawn Of Purpose, then you might be surprised to know that the story is quite real! The people and places are invented, of course. But there really is a wind, a wall, and an adventure to be had—in the real world. And I am pleased to say that you can find your part in it.
In the book, Dawn Of Purpose, there are seven areas on the map. In real life, these regions are the seven areas of culture: media, family, celebration, economy, religion, education, and government. These areas are sometimes referred to as the seven mountains. Each area plays an essential role in how society is shaped. Each is a part of God’s plan to illuminate the world with His love. And each of these could be the place where you find your purpose!
So, how can I find my purpose?
Over the next few weeks, I will be using the Dawn Of Purpose Blog to explore all seven of these spheres of influence. These ideas are powerful. In my own life, they opened a door of discovery that changed everything. Like Nora, I was swept into a new world! For the first time, I realized that I had skills and strengths that did not fit where I was at, but did fit in other places out there—places I had never even dreamed of.
Whether there is one thing that excites you, and tugs on your heart, or whether you feel lost, with a purpose-shaped hole, and you wish someone could point you in the right direction. Some people call these spheres the seven mountains. This idea, of seven mountains that influence society, was first developed by Bill Bright and Loren Cunningham in 1975. Since then, the idea has been taught by Lance Wallnau and also expanded in several books by Johnny Enlow. These seven mountain resources inspired the message of Dawn Of Purpose.
